The homeowner's vision was to create a space with a relaxing sitting area with a firepit under a wooden pergola and a clear view of a natural landscape. This was to be done without harming any of the existing trees or the wooden shed.
The homeowner already had a well-designed landscape before, but an addition to the home required the back yard to be modified. Instead of adapting their current landscape to the new section of the home, our client asked us to rethink the area surrounding the home in order to maximize the space and design a landscape that complemented the classic look of the home.
Poor drainage had left many areas saturated with water, unfit to build on. Our team removed the saturated soil and replaced it with proper fill and base material. To prevent issues in the future, the design incorporated discrete drainage tiles. The wooden shed's lower boards were rotten, so our team helped restore them — extending the life of the otherwise beautiful shed.
